Milestones And What's Next

The Mia Foundation went from being unknown by almost everyone, to having sold out charity events. Now, the foundation is raising enough money to help families with medical issues. Many popular celebrities have attended events and donated to the Mia Foundation. Celebrities include Kobe Bryant, and numerous US Women’s National Soccer Team players.
The Fourth Annual Celebrity Soccer Challenge took place on July 31, 2011. This was a sell out event, and many sponsors of Mia were there to support and donate. Nike, Gatorade, and Microsoft are only a few of the well known sponsors who were present at this event. Nearly $100,000 was raised for the Mia Foundation and the Children’s National Medical Center. The date has been set for the next annual Celebrity Soccer Challenge. Many of the same participants of the last Challenge have signed up to play this year. It will be held in Carson, California on March 24, 2013. All proceeds will be given to the Mia Foundation and Grassroot Soccer. The Mia Foundation’s presenting sponsor is FC Barcelona and the head coach of the team, and players, have attended these events. Most of the money for the Mia Foundation is raised from donations. The Mia Foundation is not just raising funds, but also awareness.
The most recent event that took place was the Celebrity Soccer Challenge on March 24. A Annual Mia Foundation Golf Classic is held every year to raise more awareness. Many of Mia’s friends show up to play golf and have a good time. There has not been anymore dates set for charity events, but there will be in the near future.
I would really love to attend the Soccer Challenge and watch Mia play, along with other great soccer stars, including Alex Morgan and Tobin Heath. Mia started this foundation to spread awareness for the cause and because of the death of her beloved brother. I think Mia is a strong woman who is doing a great thing for families who have to deal with medical troubles, similar to her brother’s, everyday. I want to support her because she is one of the many who are making a difference.
